Last summer I was on a trip when a friendly cop stopped me to just look at my car and see what I was running (gotta love it!) and politely mentioned that my ipod earphones could get me a ticket sometime from someone less apreciative. I usually only want to use the sound system on a long trip. Surely there's someone on the Forum that's solved it? I've not seen another Galaxie owner who has solved it either. I can probably solve the front speaker location problem, but I've never come up with an answer for the rear speakers. Cutting into the XL rear side panels are also 'out'. There's a oem speaker opening in the center of the back seat where I can install ONE speaker only. The package tray is unique to the XL models and I just couldn't bring myself to cut into the two humps. I would like to add some nice speakers to my car and for the life of me I can't figure out how to do it and not butcher (or uglify) the car. This relates to only 63/64 (I think) Galaxie XL models with the "two hump" rear package tray. I aploogize for this completely off-topic subject, but I'm probably not alone in facing this issue.
